MY winter tablescape design is inspired by the chilly winter air at this time of year. I grew up in the North, where winter months were harsh, with many feet of snow, blustery winds, and below zero windchill temperatures. Even with those daringly cold temperatures, I adored the magical sparkle of the deep blankets of snow that caught my eye out my bedroom window.
To recreate the mood of a cozy winter night, I used glittery mirrored trees and frosted pine branches for some sparkle and shine. A large vintage candle holder and a tiny bird rest atop artificial snow for that winter drama. There were many nights spent snuggling up next to a crackling wood fire for warmth, which inspired me to use a large rustic wooden platter as my centerpiece base and wooden chargers to pull together the wood theme. The serenity of a wintery scene topped off with snow-capped pinecones gives me that nostalgic feeling of home.
